Dorm Room Essentials..png

It feels like yesterday I was in Haiti stressing about college and now I am about to go into my junior year, time really flies. Like many incoming freshman I bought a lot of stuff that I never used, the best thing to do is to buy the basic items and hold back on the bigger things; for example if you live in an apartment style dorm, it's not really necessary to buy a mini fridge and a microwave, specially if your are an out of state or international student; decorating is fun until it's time pack everything you own and put in storage for the summer, it's even harder if you will have to do it on your own. So to help you make the "college dorm room buying guide" shorter Ill share some of my essentials with you. In this list I also included a few things that I wish I had last year.

Foldable Storage Cubes

Helped me organized my closet a lot!!

Bedrest Pillow

If you read or use your laptop on your bed, this helps.

Rolling Hamper

I can't tell you how much I envied the kids who  were rolling their dirty laundry to the wash room when I was carrying a supper heavy bag. Trust me you wont regret this one, while you are at it  add  Tied pods to the list, much better than liquid or powder detergent.

A Super Soft Blanket

Always an essential.

Eye mask and earplugs

You will thank me later.

Bedside Caddy

I can't tell you how many times I woke up to the sound of my laptop or phone falling on the ground because I kicked it off in my sleep.

Small heater/FAN

I used mine almost every day, depending on where you are, you might need one that has both options.

Mattress Pad (2 inch or more)+Mattress Cover

Believe me college beds are horrible if I could I would buy a new mattress altogether.

Desk Mirror

Used this every day when I didn't feel like doing my makeup in front of the common mirrors in the apartment.

Fairy lights

Hear me out, I originally got these because in all the Pinterest pictures  they look super cute. I put these on the ceiling on top of my bed in a zig-zag pattern and it was amazing. I use to turn them on when my roommate wanted to got to bed, it was bright enough for me to continue to do homework or read but it was not enough to bother my roommate. and mine came with a remote control (WHAT?! Fancy I know) and I could deem the light and stuff it was amazing!

Cord Clips

I hate getting off my bed to grab the cord  off the ground, call me lazy, I call it playing the system trust me get the cord clips.

Extension Cord with USB Port

0 to 100.

Quip Toothbrush

Not a dorm item but I absolutely love mine every 3 months they send you a new head so you don't have to worry about switching your toothbrush
