PADI OW SCUBA CERTIFICATION PART ll
Your girl is officially a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver! This is Part 2 to the Pool Sessions I did from this post :)
HEADING TO Monterey
The ocean dives for the certification were done in Monterey, CA. I woke up super early on Saturday and two of my friends and I headed there. We were about 2 hours early, so we drove around and ended up at a beach to watch the sunset. We then headed back to the scuba school and the adventures begin!!
All the gear for the dives were included in the price which was super helpful. I highly recommend going with a school that has everything included.
A little fun fact that is not so fun, my wet suits zipper popped in the water and I didn’t know until I got out, lets just my first experience diving wasn’t the best. Besides that little incident, I learned that Monterey is one of the best places to learn how to dive because you get to have experience with a lot of different conditions such as low visibility, cold water, and currents.
After a long day of diving, we headed to the hostel we stayed at HI Hostel, which is by far the best place to stay if you’re not trying to spend $300 a night.
On Saturday I definitely felt more confident in my dives with practice I felt more confident with managing the gear underwater and for the last dive we had a tour and that was a lot of fun I got to see different species which was nice. Below is me after the dives with absolutely no energy.
After my dives we explored for a bit around Monterey
Places we visited
The Pilgrim’s Way Books
The Lone Cypress
The Carmel Mission
Places I’D recommend BUT DIDN’T GET A CHANCE TO GO
Monterey Bay Aquarium
A Farmers Market (because we are wholesome around here)
